Youngstown, OH – The public is invited as Valley Gold Foundation and Anansi Street EMC present the first annual “Valley Gold Holiday Classic” on November 12, 2022, in the East High School Atrium and Auditorium.
A first of its kind for the Mahoning Valley, the “Valley Gold Holiday Classic” is an entertainment-packed Black-Tie gala event formatted similarly to major award show events produced in New York, Atlanta, and Hollywood. The Valley Gold event begins with a Red-Carpet premiere and host, Winnie Kneah, followed by an R&B Holiday Music Concert backed by 10-piece orchestra. The evening closes out with a Black-Tie Reception Gala of Finger Foods, DJ, and Dancing.

Debórah Benton who is Executive Producer of “Valley Gold with Debórah” TV show, wanted to establish an annual event to celebrate the milestones of the TV show, and highlight what Debórah says is the Valley’s most precious asset; its people, “They’re the gold. I’m in TV and Entertainment, so it just makes sense for me to take a lesson out of Hollywood’s playbook to showcase the Gold embedded in, and surrounding our Valley,” says Debórah. To pull off such a major feat, Debórah is pleased to have the dynamic duo of Vinny Sisson and Adam Deierling, (Producers of “The Other Side of Darkness” film) heading her production team, and veteran media and marketing Pro, Susan DeLeo as her Associate Producer. DeLeo comments, ”Debórah is working to shine a spotlight on the great talent in our Valley. I am honored to help her with this important work.”
Participants of the November 12th “Valley Gold Holiday Classic” live event include event ambassadors the Honorable Mayors and their wives; Jamael ‘Tito’ Brown (Youngstown), Doug Franklin (Warren), and Jay Williams (Former Youngstown). The 10-piece Orchestra under the leadership of Hubbard, OH native, Dr. David Manning Thomas, will provide music for Debórah, recording artists Half-Mile Home, Blaq Rose and others. Two Motown celebrities on the roster, Cornelius Grant and Glenn Leonard, played pivotal roles in helping “Valley Gold with Debórah” TV Show attract global
audiences. The concert will include a special appearance-performances by these two Motown legends. Dancers have always played a significant part in any major Hollywood award show. Valley Gold Holiday Classic will be no different. Under the choreographic direction of Ohio native Lindsay Renea, Dancers will be a high-energy part of the show. Visual Artist LaMarr Benton will also create drawings onstage as the dancing and singing take place. Official co-hosts Demaine and Leslie Kitchen, and Narrator Ernest E. Huffman Brown will provide the formal introductions and transitions for the night. Official sponsors will also be represented by ambassadors Rev. Lewis and Dottie Macklin.
