John Scalzi

New York Times Bestselling author, John Scalzi, will be visiting Youngstown State University on February 22 to give a keynote speech and to sign books at this year’s History Across the Humanities conference.

In an effort between YSU Poetry Center director, Christopher Barzak, YSU History Across the Humanities conference director, Dr. Amy Fluker, and Ruth Grace Memorial Endowed Scholar, Dr. Laura Beadling to support the regional development of a new Science Fiction Museum in Warren, Ohio, John Scalzi, author of Old Man’s War, Redshirts, and Starter Villain, former president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, and 2016 Ohio Governor’s Award winner for Individual Artist, will visit YSU’s campus, presenting to the public at 7:00pm, Thursday, February 22, in DeBartolo Hall Auditorium (Room 132).

After his talk, he will answer questions and hold a book signing. Refreshments will be available afterward in the DeBartolo lobby.
This event is free and open to the public as the first Grace Ruth Memorial Speaker Series which is part of the annual History Across the Humanities conference.

There will be 100 free parking passes available on a first come first served basis. Simply request a parking pass for the Scalzi Speaking Event at the gate of the Wick Avenue M-30 parking deck.
