Cortland Christmas Tree Lighting!

Families can join us for a day full of festivities and feel like they’re in a Hallmark movie! They can begin their journey throughout Cortland with visiting/shopping at multiple local businesses/organizations to show support and help celebrate Small Business Saturday! Most shops/businesses open at 9am or 10am.

The following activities will take place in the courtyard/green area and large parking lot on West Main Street across from the old Cortland Bank:

 3pm-7pm -Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride. Rides are FREE!!!

 4pm-6pm – Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus to tell them what’s on your Wish List. The jolly couple will arrive by horse-drawn carriage at 4pm and will visit with kids until 6pm. Be sure to bring your cameras/phones to take pictures! Kids will also receive a special goodie bag during their visit (while supplies last).

5pm – Ugly Sweater Contest …. Meet at the tree for the contest. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place Adults and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place Kids!!!

 Ornament Making Station … and CRAFTS- bring the kids to this area to make their very own ornaments to hang on our tree or take home with them. There will also be some crafts on hand to make and take!

 6pm – Experience the magic of the season with our Christmas Tree Lighting in the courtyard/green area across from the old Cortland Bank. We will be joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus along with many visitors and YOU! We invite you to come early and bring an ornament to hang on our Community Christmas Tree and help decorate it throughout the day! It can be any type of ornament or even a handmade ornament with your business’s logo.

 There will be complimentary hot cocoa, hot cider and assorted cookies sponsored by Just Pizzelles!

 Students of the Lakeview High School choir/band will honor us with their presence and lead the visitors in caroling.

We’ve added REINDEER GAMES this year. The Lakeview H.S. Sr. Beta Club will be heading the area with multiple games. Candy prizes will be given out – everyone’s a winner! There will also be an Elf selfie and Gingerbread selfie station!

A vendor area has been added to start holiday shopping with local makers!
