irdfish Brewing is unveiling their next Park IPA fundraising project. They have announced the proceeds from their latest brew will benefit Columbiana Project Playground, a local 501 (c) (3) established to rebuild an inclusive playground in Firestone Park.  A fundraising event will be held on Saturday, February 3 at Birdfish Brewing in Columbiana from 10am-6pm.

About the Park IPA and Collaboration

Park IPA collects $1 per pint poured from our taproom and donates it to local park projects. The Park IPA Fundraising Program has fully funded a 9-hole disc golf course which opened in 2021 and raised over $20,000 for the Columbiana Dog Park which opened in 2023. The program is currently raising funds for the  Skate Park and have committed to allocating funds for the Columbiana Project Playground as well.

About the Event

Birdfish will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 3rd for this 2024 kickoff event and the release of Park IPA at Noon with the new Funland can label designed by Jason Vaughn of Hex Letterpress.

Smokeworx Street Cuisine will be setup with a special breakfast brunch menu starting at 10 a.m.

The Columbiana Project Playground group will have fun activities in the taproom for the kids along with raffle baskets to help raise funds for the project. There will be live music  in the Ballroom from Caitlin Hedge & Dave Lynn from 2-5 p.m.

About Columbiana Project Playground

The original Funland was built by volunteers and community members in 1995 and has since served as the foundation for many years of family memories and traditions. The wear and tear of generations of gatherings and playtime has left the current state of the playground in need of repair and upgrades consistent with modern necessities and inclusivity. Like the original project, the new committee was established to assemble volunteers and increase community engagement to once again mobilize construction efforts for a more modern and inclusive design that future generations can families to enjoy!

The committee is currently in Phase I of their efforts which includes discovery and operating expense-related fundraising (covering the cost of design renderings, proposal fees, etc.). Once they have completed collecting surveys, they will begin to compile data and solicit bids for proposals/designs for the new structure.
