Nominate Someone Now

Name:  Chris Gunther

The Chris Gunther Show
Bio Born on March 21, 1995 to Tina Glenn and James A. Gunther III in Youngstown, OH. Chris is the youngest of three and graduated from Ursuline High School where he lettered in varsity basketball. 45th St. Patrick’s Parade Sun., Mar. 12, Dr. John Cox named Grand Ma

What made you want to go into this field? Ever since I was a kid, I loved basketball and media. I grew up watching Stuart Scott, Chris Broussard and Stephen A. Smith on ESPN. Once I saw three men on TV that looked like me, it provided a source of inspiration that I could do that too.

What’s the biggest factor that has helped you be successful?
My faith in God.

What is the biggest professional mistake you made along the way?
Thinking everyone would support me or thinking everyone is kind hearted.

What is the hardest decision you ever had to make in this field?
Betting on me and not caring about anyone’s negative opinion.

If you could start all over again, what would you do differently regarding your profession?
I probably would’ve got an internship at a TV station.

What inspires you to do good in our community?
The biggest thing that inspires me to do good in my community is wanting to see the people in our community succeed and highlight those who may not get the proper recognition they deserve.

Maximizing Your Tax Refund: Why You Should Choose A Qualified Tax Preparer

What do you enjoy most about volunteering in our community?
I love seeing people smile and doing my part to make a difference the best way I know how.

What song best describes you or is the soundtrack to your life?
Probably “Ambitious” by Jay Z.

What is your best accomplishment/experience in life?
Marrying my wife, Shanell.

Who is your role model and Why?
My Dad, James A. Gunther III. I saw him work extremely hard as a kid and did it with a pure heart. That’s an attribute I’ve always tried to have and tried to pattern my work ethic after him.

My grandfather, the late Pastor Glenn. I saw him be able to make people smile and encourage, no matter who they were, anyone along the way. That’s something I’ve always tried to do.

My Pastor, Bishop C. Shawn Tyson. One of the most kind hearted and powerful individuals I’ve ever been around. He has the ability to make anyone feel better just by being around him. I’ve always wanted to be that type of person.

If there was one person that you would like to meet, past or present and why?
For the past: I would’ve loved to meet Jesus Christ because there’s a lot of things he did that has always been amazing to me.

For the present: I’d love to meet LeBron James because he’s from Akron and I’m from Youngstown. That would be an amazing interview and experience.

A favorite quote that you live by?
With God ALL things are possible.
