The heart of downtown Youngstown will come alive with vibrant celebrations and cultural festivities as the 37th Annual Greater Youngstown Italian Festival kicks off from August 4th to 6th, 2023. This year’s festival promises to be a spectacular event filled with delicious cuisine, lively entertainment, and meaningful traditions that celebrate Italian heritage and community spirit.

Opening on August 4th, the festival will commence with a grand ceremony, recognizing and awarding scholarships to deserving students from Youngstown State University. This gesture underscores the festival’s commitment to supporting education and empowering the future leaders of the community.

One of the highlights of the Greater Youngstown Italian Festival is the Wine & Beer Tent, with the serving of Penguin City Beer as the official beer of the fest. The entertainment lineup for this year’s event is nothing short of stellar. Headlining the festival is RDNA on Friday, The Ovations on Saturday and to end the Festival, the HouseBand on Sunday, ensuring that there’s never a dull moment throughout the event.

Adding a touch of traditional Italian music, festival-goers can look forward to performances by Butch Nichols Band, Gli Italiani, and Avanti.

No Italian festival is complete without the great contests like; Pasta Eating and the Homemade Peppers Contest. In addition, honoring the Italian culture and rich culinary traditions, the event will feature Homemade Italian Wine Contests, where individuals will showcase their finest creations for to compete in this annual event.

Another delightful attraction is the Little King and Queen Pageant on Sunday afternoon, which invites the little ones of the community to showcase their charm and charisma. The pageant not only adds a touch of cuteness to the festival but also serves as a heartwarming reminder of the importance of passing down cultural heritage from one generation to the next.
