Annually on May 3rd, National Specially-abled Pets Day shines a spotlight on the needs of pets with disabilities.

This day is set aside to educate the public about caring for disabled pets. The day features disabled animals looking for a home. It also encourages animal lovers to consider choosing a disabled pet when they are looking at adopting a new pet family member. • Specially-abled pets require more veterinary care. The costs can add up, so consider your finances before you adopt, not after.

While pets with disabilities require additional care and accommodations, they still bring much love and joy to a home.
