Ohio Nonviolence Week Simeon Booker Award

Join Mahoning Valley Sojourn To The Past/Ohio Nonviolence Week Committee as they honor the recipients of the 2026 Simeon Booker Award For Courage on Tuesday, October 6 at the Tyler History Center. This year’s national recipient is Atty. Fred Gray, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Park’s lawyer. This year’s local recipient is Marc Ellis, Youngstown City school teacher. The award program is free and open to the public. There will be a ticketed reception at 5:30pm. The award program will begin at 7:00pm.
