Just Pizzelles and the Cortland area is gearing up for its most festive event of the year as it prepares to host the 3rd Annual Cortland Christmas Tree Lighting presented by Just Pizzelles on Saturday, November 25. Residents and visitors alike are invited to join in the merriment from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on West Main Street in downtown Cortland, Ohio, where the holiday spirit will come alive in a dazzling display of lights, music, and family-friendly activities.

The highlight of the evening will be the grand Christmas tree lighting at 6:00 PM, transforming downtown Cortland into a magical winter wonderland. The community will gather in unity to witness the illumination of the towering tree, marking the official start of the holiday season.

This year’s festivities promise to be bigger, with a plethora of activities for all ages. Attendees can enjoy free horse-drawn carriage rides, taking in the festive decorations and spreading joy throughout the community.

“I enjoy being able to plan this event and add more activities to it each year for families to come enjoy themselves for an evening with no worries since it’s a completely free event! Guests can feel like they’re part of a Hallmark movie,” added Christina Benton, Owner of Just Pizzelles and organizer of the event.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance, delighting children and adults alike as they listen to holiday wishes and spread cheer. The Ugly Sweater Contest adds a touch of humor to the occasion, encouraging participants to showcase their most eccentric holiday attire for a chance to win fabulous prizes.

For those feeling crafty, an ornament-making station will be set up, allowing participants to create personalized keepsakes to cherish for years to come. Complimentary hot cocoa, hot cider, and assorted cookies will be available to keep everyone warm and satisfied throughout the evening.

Adding a musical touch to the festivities, students from Lakeview High School Choir will grace the event, leading attendees in joyful caroling. Their performances promise to fill the air with the sweet sounds of the season, creating a magical atmosphere for all, while there will be a DJ playing festive music throughout the event.

The 3rd Annual Cortland Christmas Tree Lighting is not just an event; it’s a community celebration that brings friends and neighbors together to share in the joy of the holiday season. With so many activities and attractions, this promises to be an unforgettable evening for all who attend.

For the kids, the Lakeview High School Sr. Beta Club will be running Reindeer Games during the event.

Make sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, November 25, and join the City of Cortland in ushering in the holidays with the 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Bring your friends, family, and holiday spirit as Cortland lights up the night and spreads joy and cheer to all!
