The anticipation is building as the streets of Brier Hill in Youngstown, Ohio, prepare to come alive with the vibrant colors and joyous sounds of the 31st Annual Brier Hill Italian Fest, spirit of the neighborhood “A Touch of Italy.” From August 17 to 20, 2023, this beloved cultural event promises Italian heritage, delectable cuisine, lively entertainment, and spirited contests, all set against the backdrop of a close-knit community coming together to celebrate their roots.
Dom Modarelli, Chair of the Festival just enjoys what he does, “People come from all over for good food, good spirits, and to enjoy family and friends, while coming back to visit the area.”
The heart of the Brier Hill Italian Fest lies in its dedication to preserving and sharing the beauty of Italian culture with the local community and visitors alike. This year’s festival will feature an impressive lineup of live Italian music performances, with the likes of Butch Nichols, Jim Frank, and Rex Taneri.

No Italian festival is complete without the tantalizing aromas of traditional cuisine, and the Brier Hill Italian Fest is no exception. A vast array of food vendors will line the festival grounds, offering a diverse selection of Italian dishes that cater to every palate.
As the festival unfolds, excitement will mount with two unique and spirited contests. On August 19, the Hot Pepper Contest will challenge brave participants to test their taste buds. On August 20, the Wine Tasting Contest will take center stage, inviting attendees to indulge in a competition of fine Italian wines to crown the festival’s wine connoisseur.
One of the most anticipated events at the Brier Hill Italian Fest is the MORRA tournament, scheduled for August 18th. MORRA, a traditional Italian game, brings a touch of old-world charm to the festival.
