La Traviata – Opera Western Reserve
November 22 @ 7:30 pm EST
On Friday, November 22 at 7:30pm, Opera Western Reserve (OWR) will present its 22nd production, Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata in Powers Auditorium at the DeYor Performing Arts Center.
La Traviata will be Opera Western Reserve’s second production at the DeYor Performing Arts Center following the success of Carmen last fall. La Traviata tells the story of a French courtesan, Violetta, who attempts to find true love and leave her storied past behind her. Composed by Giuseppe Verdi with libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, La Traviata premiered in Venice, Italy in 1853, becoming one of Verdi’s most prolific works and continues to be one of the most performed operas in the world. Highlights of La Traviata were streamed digitally by OWR in 2020 in A Taste of Traviata and the production was last fully staged by OWR in 2010.
Tickets for La Traviata will be available Monday through Friday, 10:00am-5:00pm by calling 330-259-9651 or in person at the YourArts Box Office at the DeYor Performing Arts Center at 260 W.
