Not So Haunted House

October 18 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

Not So Haunted House will be open to the public on Saturday, October 18 from 12:00pm-3:00pm in the Old Casals Aveda Institute in the Austintown Plaza. Kids of all ages are invited. There will also be a special opening for providers, special needs, and schools only on Friday, October 17 from 10:00am-1:00pm.

This event has become a beloved tradition for Gateways to Better Living and the community they serve. It’s a sensory-friendly Halloween experience designed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for individuals of all abilities and ages. Free admission.

The event features interactive stations, walk-through adventures, and tons of candy and goodies, including:

Luminous Lagoon – a walk-through undersea adventure (sight & sound)
Minecraft Mystic Island – build life-size Creepers and Zombies (sight & touch)
Monster Munch – toss creatures into the monster’s mouth (touch)
What’s in the Box? – mystery guessing game (touch)
Hocus Pocus Potion – create a magical disappearing drink (taste)
Pumpkin Plinko – win prizes as chips clink and drop (touch & sound)
Galaxy Goo – make scented slime to take home (touch & smell)
Practice Trick-or-Treat Door – try trick-or-treating in a supportive, inclusive environment. Special Trick-or-Treat Cards will be provided for children who may find traditional trick-or-treating challenging.

Costumes are encouraged (fun and friendly, not scary). Thanks to the generous support of Austintown Plaza, IPS, and ECMSI, this exciting event is offered completely free of charge. It’s a unique opportunity to celebrate Halloween together, enjoy interactive activities, and experience the benefits of sensory-friendly events—all while having a blast!
