For 15 years, The Casey Malone Show has been a staple for viewers in the region, bringing the best of local culture, cuisine, and community. Casey Malone, a lifelong resident with over 20 years of experience in Rock and Talk Radio, noticed a gap in local programming in the early stages. “Other than local news, there was really no show that focused on local interests,” she recalls.

Over the years, the show has evolved into something great. Cooking segments, once occasional, are now a fan favorite, as viewers eagerly to get new recipes, while also offering feedback and suggesting new places to explore. “I choose people and places that interest me,” Casey explains. “I also look for organizations that are generous to the community. I hope that people will get involved in the charitable organizations that I share on the show.”

From touring the Zippo Museum and Factory in Bradford, PA, to exploring the Homer Laughlin Showroom and Factory in Newell, WV, she has showcased an array of treasures in the region. One of her more recent features was the Carney Wagyu Beef Ranch in Champion.

“As a lifelong resident of Youngstown, I am still amazed at places I am still discovering,” she says. Viewers often tell her how much they enjoy finding new spots, and newcomers appreciate her insider tips.

What keeps Casey inspired is the people she meets. “Every person I have met through my show has a story,” she says. “It’s always interesting to hear about their backgrounds and interests, always learning their experiences.”

Due to the expansion of local news shows more human-interest stories are featured. “Reporters now have more time to feature local places and people,” she notes. “Our region is a gem. We have many ethnic groups dedicated to sharing their food culture and traditions, which gives us a chance to learn about their heritage and cuisine.”

Looking ahead, Casey is excited to continue discovering new stories and faces around the area. With her high viewership, she’s planning a cookbook and exploring more unique places for her show. “I can’t believe we’ve been on the air for 15 years!” she says. “There’s still so much more to explore, and I can’t wait to share it all with our audience.”
