Cafaro Foundation Scholarships Awarded to 50 Students

As they head into the next school year, the financial burden will be lighter for 50 students from northeast Ohio, thanks to scholarships from the Cafaro Foundation.  The trustees have announced that the total amount of the scholarships awarded this year is $135,000.  The scholarships range in value from $7,000 to $2,000 to each.  The trustees selected the recipients primarily for their academic merit, while also considering the students’ financial need and the recommendations of teachers and guidance counselors.

The Cafaro Foundation is a charitable entity established by the Cafaro family in loving memory of William M. Cafaro, the founder of the real estate development and management company that bears his name.  For over a half century, Mr. Cafaro, along with his wife Alyce and brother John A. Cafaro, enthusiastically supported churches, schools, hospitals and other charitable causes.  Since its inception in 1996, the Cafaro Foundation has awarded over $26 million in grants to worthy organizations and individuals.
