The Youngstown Press Club is seeking nominations for its Hall of Fame and for its excellence in media and First Amendment awards and medal of merit.

Hall of Fame nominees must have at least 20 years of professional media experience and must have made notable contributions in Mahoning Valley media. The excellence in media award honors a person or organization currently doing exemplary work in mass communication in the Mahoning Valley.

The First Amendment Award honors a person or organization for exceptional efforts in defense of the freedoms protected by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The medal of merit is an internal award recognizing a Youngstown Press Club member for outstanding contributions to the club. Only YPC members may make nominations for the Hall of Fame and for the other awards.

The nomination deadline is May 1. Hall of Fame inductees and winners of other awards will be selected by a committee of YPC members and announced in early July.

Honorees will be recognized at the club’s Hall of Fame and Awards Dinner at 5 p.m. Sept. 24 at Stambaugh Auditorium. For details about the awards criteria, the nomination process and YPC membership, visit youngstownpressclub.com. YPC was re-established in 2018 to promote journalism and related professions in the Mahoning Valley.
