Youngstown, Ohio is gearing up for a celebration as the City of Youngstown, Youngstown CityScape, and the Downtown Youngstown Partnership join forces to illuminate the city with holiday cheer on December 1st. The much-anticipated Holiday Parade, Tree Lighting and Flea on Phelps event promises an experience for families and friends alike.
The festivities kick off at 4pm with the Youngstown Flea on Phelps, featuring a dazzling array of vendors offering unique and handcrafted treasures. From festive decorations to one-of-a-kind gifts, attendees can peruse the stalls and soak in the joyful atmosphere as the streets come alive with holiday spirit.
“Take the wonderful planning efforts of the downtown parade & tree lighting by Youngstown CityScape, and combine that with over 65 local vendors brought to you by The Youngstown #FleaOnPhelps and it’s a partnership that the City of Youngstown can be proud of,” said Derrick MCDowell, owner of the Youngstown Flea.
He went on to add, “It’s a beautiful opportunity, for the thousands of people who enjoy it, to support “here” for the Holiday season.”
As the sun begins to set, the main event takes center stage with the Holiday Parade. Starting at 6pm, the parade will wind its way through the heart of downtown Youngstown, showcasing brilliantly decorated floats, marching bands, and community groups. Spectators can line the streets to enjoy the procession, and the excitement reaches its peak as the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony follows immediately after the parade.
“We are excited to be celebrating our city’s eleventh annual Light-Up Night and Holiday Parade,” said Youngstown CityScape Executive Director, Sharon Letson. “With Federal Street opening and so much work going on, our city is due for a wonderful celebration – and we’ve put one together! This is the perfect opportunity to come to Youngstown, visit our downtown businesses and the area vendors on Phelps, enjoy the marching bands and floats, and welcome the start of a wonderful holiday season.”
