Get ready to immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration of Italian culture, music, and culinary delights at the 38th Annual Italian-American Heritage Festival in downtown Warren. From August 10th to 13th, 2023, the festival promises four days of joyous festivities, delicious food, and captivating entertainment for visitors of all ages.
The festival kicks off with a grand Ribbon Cutting ceremony on August 10th, officially marking the beginning of a weekend full of excitement. Attendees will have the chance to indulge in a array of Italian cookies and pastries inside the square. The crowning of the Junior Miss Italian and Miss Italian will add a touch of elegance and youthful charm to the opening day on the main stage at 6pm.

Saturday, promises a day of hearty competition and fun. Food enthusiasts can gather for the Meatball Eating Contest, where participants will devour meatballs in a race against the clock. For those with a refined palate, individuals can watch the Wine Taste Contest.
As the aroma of Italian cuisine fills the air, the Morra Tournament will start and engage participants in a traditional Italian hand game that dates back a long time. Meanwhile, the Tiny King & Queen and Prince & Princess pageants will showcase the cutest members of the community in adorable regal attire at the main stage during the day on Saturday.
The sounds of Italian music, with performers like Italian Cousins, Mirella the Musician and more will grace the stage, infusing the event with melodic tunes that reflect Italian music.
In the evenings, the Beer Tent will come alive with entertainment from local talents. The energetic performances by Guys Without Ties, the Hern Brothers, and RDNA will keep the crowd dancing and singing along, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of celebration.

2023 marks the 150th anniversary of the first Italian settlement in the Mahoning Valley during the Coal War. Don’t miss the Trumbull County Historical Society’s Exhibit on the Italians and the 1873 coal miners’ strike. You’ll find it in the Culture Tent. Trumbull County’s Coalburg, near Hubbard, was the site of the first Italian settlement.
