DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday July 1\, Lit Youngstown’s First Wednesday Reader Series will feature Dayton novelists Meredith Doench & Erin Flanagan. The reading will begin at 7:00pm downstairs in the Trophy Room of Westside Bowl (accessible only by stairs) with an open mic to follow. ASL interpretation will be provided. The First Wednesday Reader Series is made possible by POP! Art Books Culture. \nMeredith Doench is the author of the Luce Hansen sapphic thriller series and the stand-alone novels\, Whereabouts Unknown and Never Say Die. Meredith is an avid armchair detective and amateur web sleuth who loves all things mystery. She’s also a board member of Mystery Writers of America\, Midwest Chapter and a principal lecturer of creative writing and literature at the University of Dayton in Ohio. \nErin Flanagan is the author of five books\, including Deer Season\, winner of the 2022 Edgar for Best First Novel\, and the most recent Come with Me. She’s held fellowships at The Bread Loaf and Sewanee Writers’ Conferences\, Yaddo\, and The MacDowell Colony\, and is a professor at Wright State. \nThe First Wednesday reading in August will feature Youngstown poet Becca J.R. Lachman (Athens\, OH)\,  poet Renée Nicholson (Morgantown\, WV)\, and fiction writer and essayist Rebecca Moon Ruark (Galesville\, MD). \nLit Youngstown is a literary arts nonprofit with programs for writers\, readers\, and those who love a good story.
