SUMMARY:National Animal Crackers Day
DESCRIPTION:National Animal Crackers Day on April 18th each year celebrates a childhood favorite. A box of these sweet animal-shaped crackers not only provided a delicious snack\, but they also offered a little entertainment\, too! \n\n\n \n#NationalAnimalCrackersDay\nThe celebration brings us back to our childhood memories and the many boxes of Animal Crackers we shared with our friends. Animal Crackers refer to a type of small cookie baked in the shape of circus or zoo animals\, such as a lion\, tiger\, bear or elephant. The most common variety is light-colored and slightly sweet. However\, makers also offer chocolate and frosted varieties\, too. Even though animal crackers are made with layered dough\, much like crackers\, they are sweet like cookies. \n\n\n \nHOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL ANIMAL CRACKER DAY\nIt’s a perfect day to celebrate that childhood memory again. Pick up some animal crackers at your local grocery store and share them with family and friends. \n\nMake your favorite dessert using animal crackers.\nThey’re great for dipping or adding to a fruit tray\, too. S\nhare your photos of your Animal Crackers Day celebration using #NationalAnimalCrackersDay.\n\nSource Link

SUMMARY:National Lineman Appreciation Day
DESCRIPTION:National Lineman Appreciation Day on April 18th honors the men and women who work around the clock to keep the power going.  If the power is on where you are reading this article\, you likely have a lineman to thank. \n\n\n \n#NationalLinemanAppreciationDay\nFrom the power plant\, the grid crisscrossing the country both above and underground\, and right up to the meters on our homes\, these men and women build and maintain the system that keeps our nation running. \nRegardless of the source\, the electricity has to be transported by employing transformers and other equipment. These men and women work tirelessly to get emergency systems back in working order and urgently return service to remaining areas. \nEven when there is no crisis\, they work under dangerous conditions on a daily basis. Whether they are working in trenches\, near water\, or on high towers\, the risks are extreme. \n\n\n \nHOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL LINEMAN APPRECIATION DAY\n\nGive a shoutout on social media to linemen everywhere.\nYou can celebrate the day by thanking your local linemen.\nShare your experiences as a lineman.\nAttend a job fair and learn about the work linemen do.\nUse #NationalLinemanAppreciationDay and #thankalineman on Social Media\n\nSource Link

SUMMARY:National Columnists Day
DESCRIPTION:National Columnists’ Day on April 18th honors all newspaper columnists and their contributions to the truth in black and white. \n\n\n \n#NationalColumnistsDay\nColumnists have the ability to inspire a plethora of emotions that often result in action. What many may not realize is that it is their intent.  If their readers are not moved by their column\, they have not done their job. \nWith their own flavor of humor or satire\, some columnists lighten the mood or play a role. Others strictly provide us with a different perspective\, hard facts and solid research. Whatever their style or approach\, each columnist’s hard work connects them to the world. \nWell-known columnists have certainly inspired ire and laughter at many a breakfast table. They poke fun and holes at political leaders while commenting on today’s gossip. Depending on their area of expertise\, they may also share a little bit of gossip. Whether it’s about fashion\, movies\, politics\, sports\, business or family matters\, columnists like Walter Winchell\, Molly Ivins\, Maureen Dowd\, William Safire\, Dave Barry and Ernie Pyle engaged readers with their wit and insight. Columnists spur debate and cause us to consider our positions. \n\n\n \nHOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL COLUMNISTS DAY\n\nCelebrate by acknowledging all the people who do the research and write the columns that we read on reading each day.\nShare your favorite columnist or newspaper writer with a shout-out.\nLearn about Ernie Pyle\, the war correspondent and newspaper columnist.\nJoin the conversation on social media using #NationalColumnistDay.\n\nSource Link

SUMMARY:National High Five Day
DESCRIPTION:Each year on the third Thursday in April\, we observe National High Five Day. This is a fun day where you can “High Five” everyone that you see. \n\n\n \n#NationalHighFiveDay\nFolklore fills the hallowed halls of sports stadiums concerning the origins of the high five. From the basketball to the volleyball court and baseball stadium\, the sports metaphor has been well worn on this topic. \nThe two most well-known claims take place in less than a two-year time span. \nDuring the last 1977 regular season Dodgers’ game\, Dusty Baker hit the home run that made the team the first in history to have four players with at least 30 regular-season home runs each.  As Baker rounded third and headed home\, Glenn Burke waited at home plate to congratulate him. In a moment that is Dodgers history but was never televised\, Burke greeted his teammate by raising his hand\, and they slapped hands in a victorious high five. \nDuring basketball’s 1978-79 season\, the University of Louisville basketball team switched up their regular low-fives on the home court thanks to Wiley Brown and Derek Smith. \nOut of all the triumphant sports gestures\, such as the fist bump\, fanny slap\, fist pump\, end zone dance\, and chest bump\, the high five stands in a class all its own. \n\n\n \nHOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL HIGH FIVE DAY\n\nCelebrate with a high five!\nSee if you can find all the fives in the High Five hidden picture.\nOnce you’ve tried\, check out the key.\nIf you’re looking for ways to get children involved in sports\, check out local organizations for a list of sports activities in your town. That’s a High Five in our books!\nUse #NationalHighFiveDay to post on social media.\n\nSource Link
