SUMMARY:National Drink Wine Day
DESCRIPTION:While February 18th is observed annually as National Drink Wine Day\, it would be a shame to celebrate only one day a year. Perhaps this day is just a reminder to drink wine. \n\n\n \n#NationalDrinkWineDay\nWine does have its benefits after all. Moderate drinkers of wine have lower risks of liver disease\, type II diabetes\, certain kinds of cancers\, heart attack\, and stroke.  It also can reduce the bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase the good (HDL). \nDrinking wine includes other benefits as well. When paired with the right meal\, it enhances the flavors of spices\, fruits\, and sauces. A glass of wine helps relax us. Learning about wine keeps our minds sharp\, too. Since the fruits\, regions\, and the making of wine have such a complex story\, those who delve into find themselves traveling to learn more. \nHOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL DRINK WINE DAY\n\nSince February 18th is also National Crab-Stuffed Flounder Day\, so we suggest a fresh\, fruity white wine pairing the celebrations together.\nAttend or host a wine tasting.\nTry a new wine.\nGive a bottle of wine to a friend.\nVisit a vineyard.\nRaise a toast to your favorite wine and let us know which one it is.\nAlways drink responsibly and try a new wine. Use #NationalDrinkWineDay to post to social media.\n\n\n\n \nNATIONAL DRINK WINE DAY HISTORY\nNational Day Calendar continues researching the origins of this celebratory day. However\, we’ve sipped a few wines and suspect either a winemaker or connoisseur created this day. \nSource Link

SUMMARY:President's Day
DESCRIPTION:On the third Monday in February\, the United States celebrates the federal holiday known as Presidents Day. The day takes place during the birth month of the country’s two most prominent presidents\, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. While the day once only honored President George Washington on his birthday\, February 22nd\, the day now never lands on a single president’s birthday. \nAcross the country\, most Americans know the day as Presidents Day. More and more of the population celebrates the day to honor all of the past United States Presidents who have served the country. Throughout the country\, organizations and communities celebrate the day with public ceremonies. \n\n\n \nHOW TO OBSERVE PRESIDENTS DAY\n\nSome businesses close for the day\, including banks and federal buildings\, so make a note.\nCelebrate your favorite U.S. president.\nWatch a documentary about the POTUS. For example\, The Presidents by the History Channel.\nSee if you can name all the presidents in order.\nChallenge yourself to some presidential trivia:\n\n\nWho are the three presidents who served in 1841?\nForty years later\, this same phenomenon occurred again in 1881. Name the three presidents who served that year.\nName the three presidents who died on July 4th.\nWho were the four presidents who were assassinated while in office?\n\n\nUse #PresidentsDay to post on social media.\n\n\n\n \nPRESIDENTS DAY HISTORY\nThe origin of Presidents Day lay in the 1880s when the birthday of George Washington was celebrated as a federal holiday. In 1968\, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Bill. The bill moved several federal holidays to Mondays creating three-day weekends. During the debate on the bill\, one proposal suggested George Washington’s birthday be renamed Presidents Day to honor the birthdays of both George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Washington’s birthday is February 22nd and Lincoln’s birthday is February 12th. Although Abraham Lincoln’s birthday was celebrated in many states\, it was never an official federal holiday. Following much discussion\, Congress rejected the name change. \nDespite the rejection\, soon after the bill went into effect in 1971\, and the observance of Washington’s birthday shifted to the third Monday in February\, gradually Presidents Day became the commonly accepted name. Over time\, the observance came to be known to many as a day to honor both Washington and Lincoln. However\, today another shift has occurred and many see the day as a celebration of all the U.S. Presidents. \nSource Link
