The Addams Family Returns – A Halloween Organ Event

The Youngstown Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is offering a Halloween event on Saturday, October 29 at 7:00pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 30 West Front Street in Downtown Youngstown.
Trinity United Methodist Church is a grand neo-Gothic structure featuring the area’s largest pipe organ. The program will feature spooky offerings by Mahoning Valley keyboard artists. This event is free and open to the public. Halloween costumes are recommended as there will be a Costume Parade at this event.
There will be a dramatic reading from the works of Edgar Allan Poe and the annual singing of several Pumpkin Carols. Chilling and ghostly music at this event will be sure to get you in the Halloween mood. Keep an eye out for a special guest appearance of “Thing” from the Addams Family!
The program will also feature pianist Evan Barrett. Evan is a senior at Heartland Christian School where he accompanies the chamber choir, serves as the captain of the school’s praise team, and plays tenor saxophone in the concert band. In addition, Evan also participates in the Greenford Christian Church’s praise team.
Evan made his international piano premier in summer 2022 by participating in the PIANO WEEK International Festival and Summer School in England. He is also engaged to give a solo piano performance in the Heinz Hall lobby (Pittsburgh, PA) in April 2023 as a result of his successful audition for the Steinway Society of Western Pennsylvania. Previous performance credits include numerous local recitals and adjudicated events as well as performing on the Boardman United Methodist Church Community Concert Series in October 2021.
