Lit Youngstown Hosts Julie Cancio Harper & Eric Harper

December 7, 2022 @ 7:00 pm EST

Lit Youngstown’s First Wednesday Reader Series presents writer-partners Julie Cancio Harper and Eric Harper of Youngstown, on Wednesday, December 7, at 7:00pm at the Soap Gallery. The reading, free and open to the public, will be co-hosted by Skye Hildebrand. An open mic will follow the featured readers.

To celebrate National Cotton Candy Day, also December 7, John Slanina of the Rocky Ridge Neighborhood Association will make maple cotton candy. The maple flavor comes from syrup made with sap tapped from trees at Mill Creek MetroParks.

Eric Harper is a film and television producer living in Ohio, whose work includes Discovery Channel’s Fat N’ Furious: Rolling Thunder, and the independent feature film Looking for the Jackalope. He is also the writer and director of the modern-day western/crime film Slow Time,  which was shot entirely on location in Cisco, Utah.

Julie Cancio Harper’s unexpected pandemic sabbatical opened her heart to all the things she had meant to try but never made time for. Today she practices reiki, rigid-heddle weaving, and tarot for self-care in addition to writing poetry, non-fiction, and the occasional screenplay. Curiosity is her lodestar.

The December First Wednesday Series Reading is made possible with funding from the Char & Chuck Fowler Foundation. The January 4 reading will feature Debra Derrenbacher of Sharpsville and Joy Mistovich of Youngstown. Lit Youngstown is a literary arts nonprofit for writers, readers, storytellers, and those who love a good story. More information is at www.LitYoungstown.org.
